Evidence of US insanity

If you were looking for confirmation of American insanity, look no further. This article was in the Johannesburg Star Newspaper on 29th August. Americans own 90 guns for every 100 citizens. Who exactly are they defending themselves against? Each other?

What really surprised me, was Finland with 56 guns per 100 people and even Switzerland with 46. Quite an indictment of our supposed state of global 'civilisation', wot?

The untermenschen who mutilated live pigs

Paraphrasing Gandhi...You evaluate the evolution of a society or culture by observing how it treats its animals.

This incident says something truly terrible about South Africa and the 'untermenschen' (sub-humans) who did this. Human body, human brain hardware in skull, but desperately in need of several software downloads and updates to qualify as humans.

I believe in the concept of Karma. So at least the intergalactic book-keeper will have taken note and divine justice will prevail.

It's deeply, deeply ironic of course, that the pejorative term for police is 'pigs'. They stood by, watched, and then ran off with carcasses. If this is how the 'upholders of the law' behave, there's little hope for the future of this country. All involved need to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

This is internationally shocking PR. I feel ashamed to be part of this nation. Yuck.

Just when you thought it was safe to breathe again!

Jeez! Just when you thought Mad Manto's anti-smoking legislation was the only worthwhile thought to have crossed her brain, now mutant printer cartridges sneak up on us.

Sitting in my home office surrounded by 4 laser printers - one with humungous output capacity, I realise I must be headed for emphysema. Come back Gutenberg. Or the typewriter...

Does this mean I have to run the printers whilst wearing a Tokyo/Bangkok-style facemask, or will a full SCUBA outfit do the trick I wonder? Distressing.

Dem veggies finally pay off!

Ain't this cute? I was a total vegetarian from 1972 until about 1993 when my Spiritual Preceptor, the inimitable Swami Shivapadananda, told me to eat fish 'now and again'. No seafood per se. Just fish. I do that. But I haven't eaten meat or chicken for 35 years. Of course it's a bit late for me to get a discounted Life Assurance policy as a reward for my abstemious and animal-friendly eatin' habits! ;-) Nevertheless, bravo to Animal Friends Insurance for their initiative.
